2010 Emmy's Red Carpet

Photos from Yahoo! TV
Stars from two of my favorite shows didn't disappoint on the red carpet at the 2010 Emmy's last night. Lea Michele and Amber Riley from GLEE both looked amazing. I loved the solid color choices of navy and white for these lovely ladies. Rutina Wesley and Carrie Preston from True Blood, both went with daring printed gowns and I loved their flare on the red carpet. Even Ryan Kwanten represented with a little flare with his True Blood cast-mates. I love when a guy can stand out on the red carpent from the sea of black tuxedos and still look great! One common trend I noticed with many of the gowns worn on the red carpet last night was the split to show a little extra leg....and I liked it! Work it ladies :)

Celebrating Family!

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but I have the BEST family ever! I was able to have a good old fashion "cook-out" this weekend in Maryland with my family. Whenever I go back to Maryland and hang out with my family it really puts life into perspective. People can spend their lives running around doing this and that, trying to please this person and that person...but when it all boils down (at least for me) your family should be your saving grace. They are the ones that deal with you when you're moody or when you're in a good mood.. They congratulate your accomplishments and help you through your struggles. So today's post is dedicated not just to my family...but all families and people who don't realize how important family can be :)

Fun Fashion Friday!!!

Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 ad

Photos from Style.com
What is more fun than retro fashion?! Today's fun post is dedicated to my favorite designer, Marc Jacobs. Above are looks from his amazing collection for Louis Vuitton Fall 2010. I don't know if it's my obsession with Mad Men or the mix of feminine full skirts with a tailored bodice, but I just LOVE this collection! Have a great weekend everyone!

Shopping for a good cause

 Boutique 9 boots - Bloomingdales.com
Dolce Vita boots - Bloomingdales.com
Tonight Bloomingdale's is having a fundraiser with amfAR at their two NYC locations (and online). You can get 15% off any purchase or 20% off when you spend $300 or more. I can't figure out which boots to get...while making a difference in the fight against AIDS. I love shopping and when I get to shop and contribute to a great cause, it just makes me feel good :)

Fall Handbag Wish List

Photos from Style.com

Fall 2010 is all about the beautiful cognac color of the top Chloe bag. What I love about this bag is that it captures all the elements that I love about fashion: simplicity yet still stylish and classic. I would love to add this one to my closet...a girl can dream can't she?! The cute Alexander Wang bucket bag is a perfect everyday bag. It's fun, edgy, but still has the characteristics of a bag you could use years from now. Oh so many bags and so little time :)

The Skinny on Army Green

I made one of my first fall shopping purchases recently...skinny cargo pants (Mavi, $88). I've always been a fan of army green so I have a lot to look forward to because it's one of the colors for fall. What I love about these cargo pants is that they can be dressed down with canvas shoes (like above) or dressed up with booties.

Fun Fashion Friday: Bright Suede!

You guys know I love fun fashion and having fun with color. So it should be no surprise that I'm very excited about the colorful suede trend for Fall 2010. It also should come as no surprise that I already have colorful suede accessories like these blue suede Steve Madden shoes and fun turquoise suede studded clutch...but I can always use more :) Have a great weekend!

It's here!!!

Yes...it has arrived! My ELLE September issue for Fall 2010!!! Like my follow fashion followers, I've been waiting for this for the better half of the summer. I've only gotten through the first 100 pages of the 550+ mag but it doesn't seem like it's going to disappoint. Other than the three photo shoots they did with cover girl Julia Roberts (one shoot to represent each of her journeys in eat, pray, love), I'm very interested to see the photo shoot cleverly named "The Graduate" with Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian. Get ready for boots and camel color coats....fall is upon us!

Fun Fashion Friday: Leopard print!

It's funny that leopard prints are so big for this fall because I spotted a few leopard while on safari in Africa this summer (see my own top photo). With this beautiful print trending everywhere, I decided to go through my closet and see what I had already to "walk on the wild side"!
Happy Friday and don't forget to have fun with fashion!!!

Two of my favorite things!

I recently subtled upon an editoral that had two of my favorite things...Marc Jacobs and HBO's True Blood! Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Jessica on True Blood, looks beautiful in Marc Jacob's Fall 2010 collection. Everything about this editorial is great...Deborah, her hair, her make-up, and of course the awesome clothes!

Fun Fashion Friday!

I recently checked out the new Limelight Marketplace in Chelsea (6th Ave and 20th St) and was very impressed. It's a converted church (which was previously a nightclub) that now houses a labyrinth of cool boutique shops. Some names you'll be familiar with like LeSportsac. But other shops like Old Hollywood, which carries great vintage jewelry among other things, is a little bit more unique. This will definitely be on my list come holiday season when it's time to pick out cool gifts. There is even a great outdoor eating area and cute Parisian style food market inside. If you don't have any plans this weekend you should definitely check it out, you'll probably end up spending a whole day there.

Who doesn't like a good collage?!

I pulled the above digital collage together on Picasa (which I love!). I like using Picasa for my photo online uploading because it has fun features like creating collages. If you don't currently have an online photo sharing/archiving site you use regularly, I'd recommend Picasa (powered by Google). It's also how I made my cool blog and website header.
